This letter is to recommend the excellent service provided by Sam Chakraborty & Pericles Partners Inc. Landlord/Lessor of 3 Dalewood Crescent. Our 7 person group of students attending McMaster University has witnessed Sam's deep commitment to being a great landlord for the past two and a half years (since April 2008) that we have been leasing the 3 Dalewood property.
3 Dalewood is a gorgeous house kept in tip-top condition. Whenever a problem arises, Sam is there within 24 to 48 hours to address the issue (but he's usually faster!), or one of his trusted workmen is here to fix the problem at no cost to us. Sam has consistently resolved every issue rapidly and thoroughly. In the past, he arranged from overseas, during his vacation, to have a minor problem with the city addressed immediately. When our water heater broke, he arrived within the hour to fix it. Finally, when a tree fell during a windstorm, narrowly missing our house but crushing our fence, Sam instantly came to take care of it. He dealt quickly and efficiently with city workers who came to fix the damage. It is clear in all of his actions that he truly cares about his houses and the students living in them.
In addition to rapid repairs, Sam's services have extended to improvements to the property during our time here. He has remodelled bathrooms, repainted indoors and outdoors, re-carpeted the house, removed hedges, and in general has kept the house looking beautiful. Even though these changes are not necessary for a safe living environment, Sam values his students and wants them to be happy in the property. He truly wants the house to be a wonderful living environment; similarly, he keeps the landscaping looking sharp and the property well groomed.
Sam's approach to business is extremely professional yet down-to-earth. It is refreshing to deal with someone so honest and trustworthy there are too many scam artists in this world. Sam is extremely upfront in his dealings with us, and he always makes sure we understand the terms of an agreement so that we can make an informed decision. In short, not only is Sam a good businessman, but also he is a good person who always wants to ensure that his dealings with people are fair.
The lease document for 3 Dalewood is an extremely thorough legal document. There is never any ambiguity or nonsense in the lease; everything is clearly and explicitly stated so that we understand the conditions.
It is reassuring to have a lease that focuses so strongly on ensuring health & safety of students; I have seen a lot of dangerous and disgusting student houses and I'm glad that ours is so safe.
I cannot recommend Sam Chakraborty & Pericles Partners Inc too highly. Their treatment of students is fantastic and their service is of the highest quality. Students looking to rent a house or apartment whilst attending McMaster University need not hesitate in dealing with Sam he is an excellent landlord and person.
